Microsoft's hostile bid for Yahoo hasn't come without backlash (duh). Fearing the inevitable Microsoft conversion of Yahoo-owned Flickr, almost 3,000 Flickr users have joined the Microsoft keep your evil grubby hands off of our Flickr Flickr group. The above image is 1 of 100's submitted to the group's photo pool.
I'm not thrilled at the idea of Microsoft owning Flickr, but I'm not ready to stop using one of my favorite social networks just yet. How about you guys?

I am not fond of flickr coming into microsoft but I am not ready to give up on the site either, yahoo changed things (most notably being the usernames) but they didn't break or ruin flickr, and I figure microsoft will be careful to not do it as well.

I don't think it's going to matter who owns it. Microsoft and Yahoo both have a history of buying great web properties and then doing absolutely nothing with them. Ballmer has already stated that if the deal does go through that Yahoo, the brand, will continue as is, at least for many years to come. Microsoft isn't dumb enough to overhaul such a popular product, that's bad business; they'll probably just link it to Windows Live somehow without changing anything.
