Our Artist of the Week this week is The Me Nobody Knows, otherwise known as TMNK. His work is reminiscent of Jean Michel Basquiat -- except his styling is completely fresh. He takes his surrounding experiences and translates them on canvas, resulting in a body of work which is personal, rich, authentic, narrative and slightly melancholy.
There is more to my community than violence and drugs. There's beauty, and there's culture, and there are talented positive people, just like "me," that nobody knows.

the bottom most one is my favorite the subtle colors go well together. At the same time all of the art is abstract... pretty cool, i think i should buy a canas and some oil paints.

All I can say is WOW. What I've seen above is art with a capital A. For each of his works here, I could feel him telling me something, communicating with me on a personal level. And that is what I consider to be most important in art. When the artist takes a piece of himself and shares it with the world through his work. Brilliant.
